Hi Robert! Good to see you here too! Start to finish this is a fabulous country tune. Written and sung from the heart and soul-and it shows! Wonderful song and performance from you all! Way to go Robert, Laurel & Vic! Merry Christmas & a happy new year! :)
Thanks for the comments and this is a true story, but do you want to hear the ironic part? It acually took place in Brandywine, Maryland.. Thats where I grew up...
A mighty fine song! I really don't know why they call it Country, to me it sounds like Life music, 'cos it says it like it is.
One can always appreciate good music, welcome to the site Robert and thanks for sharing your talent with us.
Hi Robert, and welcome to mp3 !!! Country music is HUGE !!!! It outsells all the other genre's put together...Your in the right direction !!! Your heartfelt lyrics and experience ( I was deeply touched by your bio) in the Country are your strenghts !!! You have a very nice quality to your voice...I do however, think you need to polish it a little before Nashville comes callin...This can be done (think of those wells you had to dig) Whether or not you decide to go big, I commend you !!!! Your efforts and desire are an inspiration !!! Bob Brannan
def got a good voice for the genre. i dont know a whole lot about this genre, but to me this sounds as good as any country ive heard on the tube..rated
Robert, good stuff here. Classic country sound, classic country vox, classic country song! Real nice chorus. Felt like I was back in one of my favorite old Florida or Texas Honky-Tonks. Thanks for a great listen.
Hi Robert, firstly good to see you here, now this is a very classic country sound, heartfelt lyrics well sung and good work on the backing from Laurel and Spud.. traditional country, well put together... well done lads.
Hey Robert, enjoyed collabing with ya on this track. It dont get no more country than this. The fact that the story behind it is true even makes it better. You did a heck of a job written and sing'in on this.
I wrote this song as a tribute to a womans love, but even that can be tested and defeated by alcoholism. I want to thank Laurel Varner and Mississippi Spud (Vic) for helping me add the music to my childhood thought. The man portayed in this song is still living somewhere in Maryland. The last time I heard he had started to drink heavy again.....
This North Carolina Songwriter has been getting noticed in Nashville and his original works can be heard HERE. He is currently working with good friend and ex-band mate John Ruppe. They are scheduled to make a Nashville Push in 2012.
