In a Barrel - feat Liquid & Terry Wigmore
Thanks for the comment on "Jazz Deux". "In a Barrel" had a 70s vibe for me - nice vocal from Terry - really liked the keyboard solo - my favourite aspect of the track. Some nice guitar and harmonica too. Felt like a Terry song rather than a collab - who did what? Thumbs though cos i really like it.
Nice track, not my normal style, but i enjoyed the listen! Have a vote! :-).
Well well Ant this is a suprise fella.Terry your vocal is cool. The harmonica sits well....its a good track and that organ solo is cool very Tony Banks .big suprise ibcan see the mellow drums comments but it works for me im chilled at mo with a few beers mmmm.Thumbs up.
This is NOT what I was expecting! The coming together of two genres as has already been said is refreshing. Loved the texture of this Ant and Terry. great collab. Enjoyed it. Take Care Andy :)
Ant, all is well. Superb recording, everything works for me. Not my genre but i apreciate quality. Wel done to you bot. Thumb from me :)
Funny, how a comment leads to an extended thought and becomes expressed in an entire song. I enjoy the process of unfolding and, Ant, you embraced the ideas, ran with stuff, and stretched way beyond "comfort"...that, to me, is always the place of the most growth. Fun to participate in this "rock" experiment with you. Thumbs!
I read about this in the forum, and thought I'd check it out - What a cool, kick back tune! The guitars/keyboard/harmonica sound great together. I like the sound on the keyboard solo. Very cool collaboration!
Nice bass riff...very contagious. So is the vocal line. Liking the occasional change of accents on the piano too. The synth solo sits well...nice sound choice. I know little of this style of music, although agree the percs could maybe be a tad more energetic..? Anyhoo, production's nice 'n clean. Cool collab guys :)
I'm enjoying this. Especially enjoying the synth sound. Just felt the drums needed a bit more energy and a few fills here and there as befit a rock tune, specially during the synth break. Got a Keith Emerson in mellow mode during the synth stuff. Nice (ha) ! 2nd listen and it's really a nice tune, but it's definitely the drums need to drive it more. Voted.
Love the harmonica! Really nice song, big change in direction but its good to break out now and again and try something different. Works well. Gibbo
This a really nice track, a great arrangement, the syncopated piano has (for me) a "Supertramp" quality and the guitar has the right tone, and fit's perfectly with the neat drumming, the right side of relaxed and laid-back. I love the lyrics, a great series of images, which say a lot! This song is a winner, I like it a lot! Cheers, Andrew
Wasn't expecting this. It's a perfect combo of you both. A stretch for Ant I would guess but doesn't sound like it. Terry your swing is really on and improves with every recording. Vocally you're hitting nice territory and the mix is really nice. Instrumentation is really musical and has a great steady stance throughout. This one grows on ya even more on second listen. Congrats lads!
Always good to experiment with genres, good feel to the track, & like your performance, very nice track, well done & more thumbs for you.
It's not bad you two. Nice guitar riff and suitable piano. The synth solo is mint - really nice - got a touch of Tony Banks about it. Terry's vocal is nicely mixed in too. I guess the guitar riff timing could be tidied up a bit - it sounds most untidy at the intro - dunno why - figure yourself. Not sure who is responsible for what entirely but it's pretty good and catchy. Thumzup and maybe a few more guitar "strikes" littered throughout could improve things andf make it rockier.
Hi Ant, I like the style of this. Nice melodies and soloing, very enjoyable to listen to. We's all been in a barrel and the whole feel I got from the song was. awww gawd, here I am again, in a barrel, typical.... Nice collab guys!
My mind knows a thousand tunes it hasnt yet shared with my fingers

Well you never know quite what to expect when you listen to a Liquid track! Everytime I visit Ant's page I am always curious as to what I will be listening to. I offered up to do some reviews and Ant asked if I would give this one some thoughts. So first off the crazy beats at the beginning of the track give it an air of mystery ...teasing your curiosity as to what is coming next...the synths give
This is gonna be real easy. I rated tens throughout , not a difficult decision there. I am completely "in love" with this track. My girlfriend likes it very much , in fact , "she liked me very much " to this song , as we had to continue playing it over and over. Our new favorite , which I must Thank You for. To get real specific and breakdown every aspect and quality of this song , to me ,
Ultimately the point of a review is too critique a song, yet the first thing I have to say about this piece is how likeable it is. It reminds me of spring or autumn, a feeling of change and possibility. Sonically my in-expert ears can't find anything wrong with the composition or production of this piece. Every sound or instrument seems to compliment the rest with none over-powering or fighting
